Hello!

How do I get from Sandic Malmo Hotel to the Turning Torso? Is there a direct bus that goes to the Turning Torso?

Thanks

Hi Janette,
You take a five minutes walk to Gustav Adolfs Scuare and from there you take bus 2 in direction of Västra hamnen, which stands on the bus and then you get of at the stop called Turning Torso.

Can I also rent a bike on sunday?

I plan to stay one month in Malmo and i want to park on the streets. What's the cheapest way in doing that ?
Is there a monthly "park pass" i can buy ?

Hi Emanuel,

The best way for you is to contact PMalmö +46 40 605 69 00 http://www.pmalmo.se

/Matilda

Hi Matilda,I've been looking at PMalmo site before i asked here, but the lack of English version got me stuck and that's why i asked here.
How do the locals pay/park in order to save on costs ?

Hi Emanuel,
We pay for the day, but I think that you could pay for one month, but then you have to talk to PMalmö.
Outside the city centre some of the parking are free.

Hello,
I am quite unsure where to buy a bus-ticket. Is it still possible to buy a single ticket for the city bus in stores or do I have to buy that $§"§$%&- Jojo Card. We just need to get from central station to our hotel and back the other day and are not so eager to pay SEK 200 for the tiny trip! ;-)

Thanks in advance,
Henning

Hi Henning!

Yes, you can still buy single tickets, but not on the bus.
For complete information and help I recomend that you contact Skånetrafiken: 0046-771 77 77 77.
You will find their office inside the central station in Malmö
Their opening hours are:

Sat: 8-22

Good luck!

Michael

Hallo, do you know is there are large lockers for big suitcases in MAlmo train station?

Hi Lavinia!

The lockers at the central station are quite big. I would say that a typical "big" suitcase would go in. Although they are not long enough for skeeing equipment for example.

Best of luck!

Michael

Hello!
Are there any guarded car parks in the city centre? We're going to stay for one day only so we'd like to leave our car somewhere convenient and go sightseeing :) What pirce range should we expect?

Hi Patrycja!
I can recommend a garage located in the city centre called P-huset Anna, at Kaptensgatan 1. The price is 20sek/hour.
I hope you will have a pleasant visit in Malmö!

Best regards
Jessica

Thank you a lot :)

How cool of you to offer advise here!
My friend and I are arriving by ferry (Finnlines) in Malmö, a terminal at Lappögatan.
As I understand there is a bus stop Hamsögatan near, but we can't buy a ticket there so we'll have to use a cab to get to our hotel (Scandic Malmö City, Kaptensgatan 1)?

I see a cab company mentioned above at +46-40-232323, but I'd much rather use public transport (staying green was a main reason for traeling by ferry...)

I've learned from a friend we pay with Maestro card on the bus, just not cash.

Hi Dirk,

The public transport network for Norra Hamnen in under development. You can take bus 35 from the Central station in the direction of Östra Hamnen, get off at Aspögatan and then walk about 4 km by foot to Lappögatan or Bus 34 in direction of Norra Hamnen get of at Hemsögatan and walk about 1,5 km by foot to Lappögatan.

More info at http://www.skanetrafiken.se/Templates/StartPage.aspx?id=16125&epslanguag...

There is no cash or credit card on the buses, read here how to get a ticket:

Hi again Dirk,

Finnlines gives you a free shuttlebus from the terminal to the Centralstation

/Matilda Malmö Tourism

Hello Dirk! Unfortunately you can´t use credit card on the local buses. I´m a reporter at the local newspaper Malmö City and I would like to do an article about this problem for tomorrows paper. Therefore I would be happy if you could contact me at victor.eriksson@cityskane.se for a short mail intervivew. Thank you!

Hello! I am staying in Malmö for business, but the client I need to visit is in Landskrona. What is the best way to get from Malmö to Landskrona other than driving a car? I do not have an international driver's license. Many thanks for your help!

Hi

The easiest way to Landskrona is to go by train. It takes about 40 minutes. Take the train from Malmö Central Station and get off at Landskrona station.

You can buy tickets before you go on the train, either the machine or on Skånetrafikens MCC.

You can use the same tain-ticket on the bus in Landskrona.

/Linda

Hello,

is it possible to use the 3-day tourist travelcard to discount the Malmö-Kopenhagn train ticket?

Hi, I am visiting Copenhagen between the 27th to the 30th December and plan a day out in Malmo via train - does the train stop at Malmo, by all the shops/cafe's in the city, or do I get off the train and have some distance to go to reach the city?

Thanks

Hi Trev, Take the train to Malmö C ( Malmö Centralstation). Malmö C is in the city center it´s just a few minutes walk to the pedestrian street.
Welcome to Malmö!

Malmö Central Station and you are there. Check out Lilla Torg. http://www.malmotown.com/en/list/culture/attractions/lilla-torg

5 minutes from the station.

Thanks for that. I look forward to it. x

Hi, I will be flying from Malmo Airport on 12 of February at 7 in the morning. Since I am living near Aarhus, Denmark, I have to travel 4 hours from where I live to Malmo and than take a bus or anything else to get to the airport.
As you can see 12 of February is Sunday and I am wondering if there are any buses available either Saturday very late or Sunday very early, around 4 in the morning.
Some advises please.
Thanks

Hi,
I will arrive malmö Sunday night (23.01.2012) and i need a taxi from central station. Do Taxi companies work that ours ? Thank you

Hello,

Yes, they work round the clock.
Welcome to visit Malmö!

Best regards,
Tina

Hello.
We will be in Copenhagen while my husband is working in Denmark, the week of March 5th 2012 and would love to visit Malmo during our visit. From what I have read, there are no guided tours from Copenhagen during March. I think they begin in the warmer weather. My question is: if we take the train from Copenhagen, are there any tour companies in Malmo that could give us a few hours of a guided tour? It will be 2 adults and 1 child. If so, I would like to be able to set it up before we leave the US. We would like to go on a Saturday or Sunday. Thanks for the help. We are excited to visit Sweden for the first time.

Hello,
Unfortunately started the guidide sightseeing tours in the end of March. But you are welcome to visit our Tourist office, opposite the railway station. We will be happy to help you and suggest a walking tour by your self.
Welcome to Malmö! / Marie Malmö Turism

Hello, assume I stay in a hotel in the road Segesvängen.
What do I have to do in order to take the bus to the city and back? The only thing I am sure about is that I can not pay in the bus.

Matth

Hello, If you stay at Scandic Segevång you have to buy a travel card /jo jo card or a 24 h busscard in advance. The closest place to buy the jo jo card is at Coop Konsum at Kirsebergs torg , 1,5 km from the hotel.
If you have the possibility the easiest is if you visit the Centralstation in Malmö first, there can you find Skånetrafikens ( local bus service) service center.
More information about Skånetrafiken and the jo jo card / travel card see http://www.skanetrafiken.se/Templates/StartPage.aspx?id=16125&epslanguag...

Best regards Marie Malmö Turism

Sorry, the other option is:
Take the car, park on the main market, put the credit card in the automat, press the desired time, get the ticket and put it on the dashboard. DONE.

So with buying tickets in advance the bus is no option.

Skånetrafiken should really consider to accept some kind of payment on the bus. Let it be a common credit card with a surcharge, so the driver does not have to handle cash. If the hotels would sell tickets - OK also.

Matth
