Malmö’s new multicultural meeting place is found in Moriska Paviljongen in Folkets Park. This is where Kulturföreningen Re:Orient is putting on a broad offering of music, dance, theatre, literature, comedy, burlesque, different forms of subculture, social projects, debates and seminars.

The focus is on culture and entertainment from the Middle East, North Africa and the Balkans. Since Malmö holds all types of minorities close to its heart, this is especially pleasing. So look forward to an enticing programme with everything from international acts to new local talent this autumn.

Moriska Paviljongen was built in 1902 and with its exotic architecture resembles a palace from One Thousand and One Nights. After careful restoration the premises were reopened in June by Kulturföreningen Re:Orient. Moriska Paviljongen is home to two large halls, with space for audiences of 1,000 and 400 people respectively. It even houses a restaurant that tempts with French-Moroccan cuisine. The building also has a leafy garden with a roofed bar and stage. The perfect place for anyone wanting to organise great barbeque parties, larger get-togethers and concerts.
